OCW Consortium Announces Winners of 2013 Course Awards for OpenCourseWare Excellence
Awards were given in two categories of open courses – text-based and multimedia. Text based courses include written materials for the course, including lecture notes, assessments, syllabi, calendars and readings. Multimedia courses also include video, audio or other type of multimedia presentation of materials. Winning courses are selected by a committee of educators from around the world. Courses are produced in a variety of languages and developed by institutions committed to increasing access to high quality higher education for everyone.
“We are very pleased to recognize these institutions and the courses they have contributed to free and open education”, said Mary Lou Forward, Executive Director of the OpenCourseWare Consortium. “These courses are outstanding examples of the impressive content available as open educational resources, and have been recognized by the OCW community for their excellence.”
