Exchange Program to Promote OER in North Africa and the Middle East

Overview of the program

This exchange program seeks to bring leading education innovators from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to meet with their counterparts in the United States. The goal of the program is to build awareness and strengthen the use of Open Education Resources (OERs) in the MENA region. In addition to gaining a better understanding of the OER landscape in the United States, this exchange also hopes to create a space for U.S.-based OER practitioners to learn from their MENA counterparts. Ultimately, exchange participants will work with their host institution in the U.S. on developing an action plan to apply in their country. This program is being conducted by the U.S. State Department in coordination with the Arab Educational Cultural & Scientific Organization (ALECSO).
